Beloved mother and grandmother, Betty Jean Russell, 73, of Vancouver passed away Feb. 15, 2021.
She was born March 20, 1947, in Vancouver, to the musical family of James and Zita Gibson. She attended Battle Ground High School.
In 1966 Betty married David Russell in Longview and became a homemaker. They had three children together before divorcing in 1972. Betty found her true love with Walt Clark in 1974. He had two daughters, Sherry and Cathy who blended into the family. Betty and Walt were devoted to each other until Walt’s death in 2020.
Betty enjoyed playing guitar, collecting dolls and angels, and sewing, making stuffed animals and clothing for the dolls she collected.
In addition to Walt, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Russell of Portland; two sons, David Russell and Landon Russell, both of Vancouver; four grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Musa; and four brothers, Bobbie Gibson of Boise, Idaho, Benny Gibson of Portland, and Harvey Gibson and Hank Gibson, both of Battle Ground.
Her family will cherish the memory of her sweet nature, selflessness, caring and kindness.
A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Steele Chapel.
