It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beverly “Bev” David, 82, of Longview on Dec. 1, 2023, at Southwest Washington Medical Center.
Bev was born Nov. 15, 1941, in Riverside, Calif., to Oliver “Lee” and Myrtle Waddell, and raised with her nine siblings.
She worked at Bob’s Sporting Goods for 36 years, making many friends along the way. Bev was a hard worker and a very giving person. She was always ready to help with the grandchildren, and lend a hand to friends and neighbors, providing a meal, a ride, or picking up groceries. She was lovingly known as “Gigi.”
Bev was a great cook and her recipes have become beloved by her children and grandchildren. She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Baseball was her favorite. She was a Seattle Mariners fan.
Bev is now an angel watching over her husband of 44 years, John; four children, DeAnn (Dale) Axon, Pam (Danny) Masters, Mike (Alissa) Johnson, and Steve (Charlete) Johnson; five stepchildren, Colleen (Mark) Thorson, Lynn (Judy) David, Sean David, Kenneth (Tammy) David, and Nick (Kathy) David; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored her.
A celebration of Bev’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 28 at Kelle Hall, 1140 11th Ave., in Longview.
