Candice Joy Beam went to heaven on May 19, 2023 and was 74 years old. Born in Longview, Wash., Nov. 30, 1948, to Ralph and Joyce Carr, Candi was the only girl of their four children. She graduated from Clatskanie High School in 1966 and attended Northwest University in Kirkland, Wash.

Candi spent 20 years keeping the books for Parr Lumber Company and several years doing the same for Stagecraft Industries. She had an uncanny ability to make a house feel like a home; always cozy, beautifully decorated, making everyone feel comfortable and welcome. Most likely, she would have baked a Bisquick coffee cake to enjoy during the visit.

She loved her flower gardens and enjoyed drinking coffee on the back porch with Mark. She never missed cheering on her nephews and great-nephews at their ball games and loved antiquing and bargain shopping. She always saw the good in people and loved to laugh and be silly.

Her faith in God was strong and she was anxious to get to Heaven and meet Jesus and be reunited with her mom and brother. Her greatest love was her family and she had a love deeper than the ocean.

Mark and Candi celebrated 49 years of marriage March 29, 2023.

They are survived by three children, Craig Beam (Teresa), Jill Black (Doug), and  Karin Siccardi (Jon). They are also survived by eight grandchildren whom they loved unconditionally, Sierra Leech (Adrian), Logan Quinton (Nathaly), Kendyl Beam, Daphne Zumwalt, Ella Siccardi, Hazel Siccardi, JonMark Siccardi, and William Siccardi; and a  great-grandson, Oliver Quinton.

Candi is survived by two brothers Randy Carr (Edna) and Greg Carr (Tracy); and her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended loved-ones.

Mark and Candi lived simple, ordinary lives but the way they loved others was anything but ordinary. It reached far and wide and was felt by so many. To honor their memory, we ask that you choose to spread acts of kindness and extravagant love.

A celebration of Mark and Candi’s lives was held June 4 at the Empress Estate in Woodland, Wash. A no-host dinner was held at The Oak Tree Restaurant in Woodland.
