Lifelong Longview resident Darvin Leo Masters Sr., 62, passed away June 5, 2022, at home peacefully in his sleep.
He was born Oct. 16, 1959, in Longview to John and Betty (Chest) Masters and graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1978. On April 8, 1978, he married Thea Moon and they had five children.
Darvin attended Lower Columbia College where he earned certifications in welding and mechanics. He worked as a mechanic until retiring in 1997.
Darvin was a loving, kind-hearted, thoughtful, and outgoing family man. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping at Streeter’s R.V. Park in Silverlake, watching the Seahawks, family gatherings, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Masters; a son, Darvin Masters Jr.; a grandson, Hayden; a sister, Linda; a brother-in-law, Art DeWeert; a sister-in-law, Peggy Masters; and a nephew, Josh Masters.
Darvin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Thea Masters at home; three daughters, Martha Anderson (Jason), Bette Skare and Karen Masters Cesna (Nancy), all of Longview; a son, Rick Masters (Ivy)of Longview; Darvin Jr.’s wife, Amber Masters in Indiana; two brothers, Duwayne Masters of Kelso and Danny Masters (Pam) of Longview; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Family and friends will celebrate Darvin’s life at a later date. He will be laid to rest at Longview Memorial Park.
