Davadean "Dave" House

February 16, 1939 — February 13, 2024

Longview

Davadean “Dave” House, born Feb. 16, 1939, in VanBuren, Mo., peacefully passed away Feb. 13, 2024, at Frontier Extended Care in Longview, with a son (Keith) by his side.

Davadean lived a rich and fulfilling life. He relocated from Missouri to Longview, Wash., at a young age with his family. His father, Rodney, imparted upon him the essential skills of hunting, camping, and fishing in the local area, which Davadean cherished and later passed down to his own sons. He took great pleasure in teaching them how to navigate the local rivers, track wildlife, hunt, and prepare game for the dinner table.

After high school at R.A. Long, he enjoyed his time in the Army, stationed in Germany. When discharged he moved back to the local area and worked for Standard Dairy as a route driver, then worked as a beer and wine salesman, where he had the opportunity to meet many people and forge lasting friendships. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Moose and Elks lodges.

One of Davadean's favorite memories was spending time in Canada fishing and on Marble Mount with his wife Darlene, where they built a cabin for snowmobiling and enjoying the outdoors. He treasured the hours spent around the campfire, snowmobiling, riding ATVs, and tending to his garden.

Davadean will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by three sons and their spouses, Keith and Kim Presnell, Brian Presnell, and Darrin and Karalee House; a sister, Juda Hesse; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Stella (Cullpepper) House; his wife, Darlene H. (Searls) House; and a sister, Wanda Wehrly.

A family graveside memorial will be held at Longview Memorial Park, 5050 Mt. Solo Road in Longview.
