Donald Lee Revis, known affectionately as Don, was born on July 5, 1948, in Longview, Washington. He passed away peacefully in Longview on February 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He left this world secure in the knowledge of his place in Heaven. A Highlander to the end, Don graduated from Kelso High School in 1966, marking the beginning of a life filled with laughter, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to family.
Don's intelligence was unparalleled; he was extremely smart and perceived things others often overlooked. Friends soon learned that when he offered to bet on something, it was wise to decline, as he never lost a wager. His knowledge often revealed truths that remained hidden to others, making him a trusted confidant and advisor. After graduating high school, Don proudly served his country in the Army, spending a year in Vietnam where he drove fuel trucks to serve fighter jets. His natural leadership qualities shone during this time, as he humorously recounted how soldiers of higher ranks saluted him as he walked by.Don was a man of great humor and sharp wit. He could find the funny side of even the most challenging situations, bringing joy to those around him. He was generous to a fault, always ready to extend a helping hand to anyone he perceived to be in need. Embracing the spirit of giving, Don loved to play Santa Claus, providing gifts without seeking credit for himself.
As a devoted family man, Don's pride and joy came from his children and grandchildren. He loved his family dearly and considered them to be his greatest contributions to the world. His loyalty to family and friends was perhaps the most defining aspect of his character. Don never missed his kids' extracurricular activities and passionately enjoyed sports, both as a spectator and participant. His interest in athletics extended to coaching youth sports, where he focused on ensuring every child had the opportunity to succeed. He is survived by his beloved wife, Amy Revis; son-in-law and daughter, Brandon and Kelli Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Nicole Revis; son-in-law and daughter, Gary and Tati Queener; and grandchildren Drew Queener, Baler, Vivian, Bridger Martin, and Amy Revis.
