On Sunday, April 7, 2024, Jesus took Donna Yardley home.
She was born June 27, 1952, in Longview to Max and Mabel (Karnes) Yardley.
Donna moved with her family to Yacolt in 1960, where she attended grade school. She graduated from Battle Ground High School and received an associate degree from Clark Community College.
After college, she returned to Longview, where she worked at Printing Arts Center and then as the librarian for The Daily News. After Donna's departure from the newspaper, she opened Just Like Home Dog Boarding at her home in North Kelso. This was her love.
A celebration of Donna's life will be held Saturday, June 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Longview Women's Club, 835 21st Ave. The family will have a remembrance board and would like Donna's friends to provide pictures of pets, past or present, for it. You may bring a print to the celebration or email photos to Bob at rbgaston@me.com before May 28.
Donna's survivors include sisters Mary Jo Grochow (Denny) and Marian Case (Russ), five nieces, one nephew, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to your favorite charity or to the WSU College of Veterinary Medicine's Margin of Excellent Fund. The address is Friends of the College of Veterinary Medicine Fund, P.O. Box 647010, Pullman, WA 99164.
