Elaine Annette Loerch, a beloved member of the community, passed away on June 17, 2024 in Olympia, Washington. She was born on July 22, 1937, in Arnegard, North Dakota, to the late Edward and Irene Mattison.
Elaine led a remarkable life filled with diverse experiences. She excelled academically and graduated as the valedictorian of her class in high school. Following her education, Elaine embarked on a successful career journey. She worked as a secretary for an attorney, served the Lady's Elks organization for over 30 years, owned a clothing store, managed bookkeeping tasks effortlessly, and devoted over four decades to owning and operating "The Chatterbox" bar & grill until her retirement in 1990.
A talented musician at heart, Elaine found joy in being a vocalist and piano player for the church and playing the trumpet during her school years. Her passion for music shone through as she could often be found singing to herself. In her leisure time, she enjoyed being part of TOPS after relocating to Washington.
Aside from her professional accomplishments and hobbies, Elaine was known for her charismatic and approachable personality. While many admired her amiable nature, she also possessed a strong resolve and did not tolerate any nonsense from others.
Elaine was preceded in death by her dear husband Duke, her sisters Diane and Mary Jo, her brother Ronnie, and her sister-in-law Judy. She is survived by her loving siblings: Jerry Mattison and Gary Mattison; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Elaine's life will be held on August 19, 2024, at Longview Memorial Park in Longview, Washington. The service will begin at 10:00 AM with a gathering with friends and family.
Elaine Annette Loerch will be remembered fondly for her unwavering spirit, musical talents, dedication to her community, and most importantly, for touching the lives of those around her with kindness and warmth.
May she rest in peace knowing that her legacy lives on through the cherished memories she leaves behind.
