D. George LeSuer passed away quietly on March 24, 2023.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Judy; four children, Sue (Chuck) Mortimer, Sally (Steven) Kidwell, Tim (Maureen) LeSuer and Jane (Dan) Bernard; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald (Melody) in Arizona.
George was born and raised in Gasport, N.Y. As a kid, he spent much of his time at his grandparents farm. He worked on the railroad (like his father) a few years before becoming a meat cutter at Chapman's Market in Middleport, NY. The family moved to Longview, Wash., arriving on July 4, 1976, where he worked at Reichert's Market as a meat cutter, then went to Longview Fibre where he retired after 20 years.
After his retirement, George got into woodworking and skeet shooting. He sold his bird and bat houses and squirrel feeders at the Cowlitz County Farmer's Market. He was a lifetime member and past Master of the Gasport Masonic Chapter Lodge.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 6 at Steele Chapel. A private family funeral will be held April 7.
