Gerry passed away at home on November, 14, 2022. Gerry is survived by his children, Allison Luckock of Anthem, Arizona, and Adam Archibald of Sagle, Idaho, and by his beloved grandson, Nathan Luckock of Anthem, AZ. Gerry is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Lonnie and Marge Archibald of Forks, Washington, as well as two nephews, Oly Archibald (Theresa) and Brad Archibald (Cheryl), all of Forks. Additionally, Gerry is survived by his lifelong friends, Gary Jonientz and Casey Horton, and his college buddies, Norman Eigner and Bob Holland, and his longtime neighbors and friends, Dave and Sue Holma.
Gerry graduated from Oregon Technical Institute in 1971 where he met and married Sylvia Smith in 1971. Gerry was known for his hard work ethic and retired from Motion Industries in 2013. Gerry also taught a hydraulics course at Lower Columbia College for 16 years. He was known for his quiet, dry sense of humor and his dedication as a father, coaching soccer, umpiring and coaching little league baseball. In his retirement years you could find him in his dream shop which was always well-organized, doting on his beloved ‘62 Impala and working on numerous other projects, including woodworking which he took up in his later years. He had a passion for classic cars and even dabbled in drag racing in his earlier years. He took his family on numerous camping trips and instilled in his children a love for the outdoors. He was an avid catch-and-release bass fisherman who took pleasure in showing the youngsters how to fish on the annual houseboating vacation to Lake Billy Chinook with other family members and friends. He was the go-to guy who would gladly take the kids out on the boat for skiing and wakeboarding or just pulling them on the water toys. He enjoyed exploring and photographing old ghost towns, searching for long lost relics of the past along the way.
A private family ceremony will be planned.
