James D. Dupras, 77, of Kelso was born Feb. 11, 1945, in Sacramento, Calif., and passed away July 21, 2022, in Kelso.
He was a 1963 graduate of Kelso High School. James retired from Longview Fibre Company as an oiler. He was a member of the Kelso Police Reserve and a volunteer firefighter. He enjoyed fishing, word searches, spending time with his grandchildren, yard work, and helping others. James would drop anything to be there for you, to give you his last dime, or the shirt off his back.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce A. Dupras; a son, James D. Dupras Jr.; a daughter, Michelle Franck; a brother, Dale Dupras; two sisters, Cathy and Gail; his closest cousin, Sony Brent; and numerous other extended family members, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Pearl Gundell; and his father, Lyle Dupras.
A celebration of his life with fire department honors is planned for 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13 at Riverside Park, 1820 Westside Hwy., Picnic Area #4 in Kelso.
