Longview

James "Jim" T. Reeves, born on December 12, 1945 in Longview, Washington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Father's Day(June 16, 2024). Jim was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose love and dedication to his family and community left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

Jim graduated from RA Long High School in 1964. He was a member of both the football and track teams. In 1965, Jim married the love of his life, Patricia (Page)Reeves, who found each other at Monticello Middle School as an 8th and 9th grader. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership, and they celebrated nearly 60 wonderful years of marriage together. Their relationship was the foundation of a family that thrived on love, respect, and mutual support.

Jim was a devoted family man, always putting the needs and happiness of his loved ones first. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, creating memories that will be cherished forever. His kindness, wisdom, humor, and unwavering support were constants in the lives of his children and grandchildren, who will forever hold his advice close to their hearts.

Prior to his manufactured home career, Jim was a milkman for Standard Dairy delivering milk in the mid-60s, and then helped support his mom’s dream of opening a small restaurant called “The Carousel” in the Triangle Center.

From there, for over five decades, Jim was the owner and operator of Reeves Towing and Consolidated Homes Sales Centers, having the opportunity to work alongside his dad for many of these years. Through his hard work, dedication, and exceptional industry wisdom, he built a legacy that provided for his family and served the community as he put them in their new homes. His businesses were more than just enterprises; they were extensions of his values and commitment to helping others. Jim was/is a legend in the manufactured home industry known as a man that “could put a manufactured home anywhere.”

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his sister, Kathy Flynn; his two children, son Rich Reeves and wife Christina; daughter Robyn(Mertes) and her husband Todd Mertes; his 4 grandchildren, Majerle( Brock Gutches), Hope(Mertes), Eastyn(Reeves), and Ashton(Mertes), and great-grandson, Kolson; and a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother and father Magdalen and Harry Reeves, and grandson, Easton Reeves.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, July 6 at Longview Community Church at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that “designated family” time be given to those that you love, just as he would.

James "Jim" T. Reeves will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his exceptional work ethic, and his kind and generous spirit. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
