James Everett Robbins

September 20, 1935 — October 16, 2024

James Everett Robbins, affectionately known as Jim, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, in Longview, Washington, at the age of 89. Born on September 20, 1935, in Long Beach, California, Jim lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Jim dedicated a significant portion of his career as a manager of an electric motor and gearing repair shop, where he was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to bring a sense of camaraderie among his colleagues. His professional life was just one part of the tapestry that made up this vibrant man, but it was in his personal life where Jim truly shone.

He had a profound love for the great outdoors, often spending his days fishing, hunting, and boating. The thrill of casting a line into tranquil waters brought joy to his heart, while his happiest memories were often formed at the family cabin in the mountains that he built with his beloved wife, Georgia. This cabin wasn’t just a structure; it was a sanctuary where family gathered, laughter echoed, and memories were forged for generations to come.

Jim was not only an outdoorsman; he was an exceptional card player, always ready for a game with family and friends. Those lively card games filled with hearty laughter epitomized his engaging personality and brought everyone closer together. He had a knack for making every gathering enjoyable—a true testament to his generous spirit.

Having served in the U.S. Navy Reserves, Jim carried a sense of duty and honor throughout his life. His family has shared fond memories of his stories from those days, recounting lessons of leadership, discipline, and perseverance that he instilled in them.

Jim leaves behind a cherished legacy through his beloved family. He is survived by his sons, Mark (Dawn) Robbins and Mathew (Carol) Robbins, and his grandchildren: Danielle, Brittany (Dan), Tyler, Melissa (Dan), and Kate (Tucker), along with six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister, Dianne Pickett, and brother, David Robbins, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will miss his warmth and kindness.

Jim was predeceased by his loving wife, Georgia Robbins, and his parents, Everett Jeff Robbins and Milldred Robbins. Their memory lives on in the hearts of those who remain, and they will be honored through the stories and traditions Jim so passionately shared.

As we reflect on Jim’s life, let us remember the man who loved to fish, celebrated life with his playful spirit, and embraced every moment spent with family. His impact on our lives will echo in our memories, and his spirit will continue to inspire us as we navigate our own journeys. Jim may have departed from this world, but the love he gave and the memories he created will be treasured forever.
