John Joseph Baker
April 19, 1933 Alhambra, CA - July 26, 2021 Vancouver, WA.
He will be greatly missed!
John was born to love the beach. His parents took him on his first camping to the coast when he was six weeks old. This started him on his love of the beach and fishing. And, boy did he catch the fish over the years.
As an adult John took up and fell in love with the game of gold. He helped us, all of his family, to become golfers.
In school John developed his talent for art, which carried over into the beautiful yards he created in each home he owned. Beautiful cement work, sidewalks and planters. He also worked on woodworking projects and make three beautiful desks.
He joined the Naval Reserves after graduation from high school and served for eight years.
Some of the companies John worked for were AMF Voit, Acme General and AB Dick.
John was a thoughtful caring person, always ready to help in anyway he could. He was a fun loving person and loved to talk about his camping and fishing adventures.
John was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances (Sutton) Baker, his sisters Louise Boynton Berkhimer and Betty Brush, and a brother William Baker. John is survived by his wife, Barbie, of almost 53 years, children Dennis (Elaine) Baker, grandchildren Justin and Amanda and great grandchildren Damen (5), Maike (3).
