Kenneth Gene Faul, 89, of Castle Rock passed away Oct. 6, 2021 in Longview.
He was born July 4, 1932 in Sawyer, N.D., and attended Sawyer schools until his help was needed on the family farm. Ken served two years in the Army during the Korean War and moved to Washington upon his discharge 56 years ago.
Ken was a Boy Scout leader in the early 1970s and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Elks. He was a truck driver and an educator. He enjoyed gardening, reading Louis L’amour novels, and family gatherings, especially during the holidays. Ken had many holiday toys. He was strong-willed and ornery, but also loving, and always willing to lend a hand.
On Dec. 17, 1977, Ken married Bonnie Bishop in Puyallup. She preceded him in death. Also preceding him were two sons, Kenneth James and Steven Leroy; and four siblings, Evelyn, Jim, Gerene and Arlo.
Ken is survived by a son, Jay Faul (Delena) of Castle Rock; two daughters, Debbie Bowen of Bend Ore., and Lisa Crape (Ron) of Longview; four stepdaughters, Janice Mitchell (Todd), Jaqualine Kreisman and Suzanne Fonseca, all of Puyallup, and Tamyra Horton (Bob) of Wenatchee, Wash.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29 at Steele Chapel. Interment will follow at Longview Memorial Park.
