Kenneth Leroy Schwartz, 56, of Woodland, passed away Oct. 29, 2022, at Providence Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver.
He was born Feb. 17, 1966, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lewiston, Idaho, to David L. and Loretta A. (Fredrickson) Schwartz. They preceded him in death.
Kenneth married Paige Taylor on Sept. 9, 1995. They later divorced. He didn’t have any children of his own, but was blessed with a niece, Taylor Buck of Longview; and two nephews, Craig Buck of Kelso and Kyle Schwartz of Woodland. His sister, Karen Schwartz passed away from ovarian cancer on March 8, 2010.
Kenneth spent the majority of his life in the Woodland/Battle Ground area. He graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1984, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Oregon State University in 1991.
Kenneth was a superintendent for the Kiewit Corporation from 1990 to 1994. He owned Asphalt Maintenance Group from 1995 to 2004, which was awarded top 100 paving contractors nationwide in 2002.
He was an inventive and intelligent workaholic, with a compassionate nature. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed SCUBA diving and rock collecting.
A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26 at Steele Chapel, 5050 Mt. Solo Road, in Longview.
