Linda Joyce Thomas of Longview passed away Aug. 22, 2022, at home a day after her 80th birthday.
She was born Aug. 21, 1942, in Phoenix, Ariz., to James and Jewell (Summit) Dillow. Linda graduated from high school in Flagstaff, Ariz. On April 15, 1961, she married Keith Busack in Flagstaff. They moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1964 and later divorced.
Linda attended the Longview Beauty School and married Donald Thomas in Longview Oct. 31, 1979. He survives her at home. Also surviving are five children, Linda Moore, Frank Thomas, Aloma Thomas and Joy Thomas, all of Longview, and Carolyn Tokuoka of Kelso; a sister, Debbie Stewart; a sister-in- law, Kathy Dillow; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, James Ronald Dillow.
Linda was the most loving person, but she could be stubborn. She will be remembered for being a caring, thoughtful, considerate, and a beautiful person. She retired as a hairstylist in 1983. She was a member of Abernathy Assembly of God Church, the Red Hat Society and a 4-H leader. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, ceramics, cooking and Bible study. She loved Jesus and is with him now.
A funeral service is planned for noon Wednesday, Aug. 31 at Abernathy Assembly of God, 702 Abernathy Creek Road, in Longview with a reception to follow. A private family viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to service time at the church. Burial will take place at 3 p.m. at Longview Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Dominique Thomas, Zachary Thomas, Jason Thomas, Bryan Burchim, Mellissa Burchim, Benjamin Moore and Adam Smith.
The family requests contributions in Linda’s name be made to the Abernathy Assembly of God.
