Marilyn Yvonne Warman passed away peacefully May 4, 2018 at the age of 87. She was born in Wichita, KS on June 17, 1930 to Archie and Lillie Trudgeon.
The family moved West in 1946 to Sunnyside, WA where she finished her last two years of high school, graduating as salutatorian of her class.
Marilyn went on to attend Pacific Bible College, now Warner Pacific College, in Portland, OR where she received an Associate Degree in Christian Education. Shortly after arriving at college, she met her future husband, Dale Warman, fresh out West from Colorado. They were married 57 years until Dale passed on in 2007.
Marilyn loved her family! She had three children: Doug (Patty) Warman, Sharon (Dave) Agnor and Ron (Rhonda) Warman. There are 9 grandchildren: Jacob, Matthew (Maribel), Laura and Hannah (Franck), Chrystal (Michael), Breanna (Jason), David (Jasmine), Miranda (Patrick) and Reis. She also had 5 great-grandchildren: Logan, Corinne, Amelie, Cyrus and Félix.
Marilyn was an avid reader and travelled extensively. She loved history, Biblical archeology, gardening, and hand quilting. She traveled through China just as it was opening up for Western visitors and afterwards went through Tibet, Nepal, and India. Later the entire family travelled through China together.
Marilyn's faith was important to her. She sang in the choir at the First Church of God in Vancouver, including many years with the Singing Christmas Tree. She sang duets with Dale and taught Bible study at the women's group at the church. She was a cofounder of Laymen in Vital Exchange Ministries (LIVE) and did short term missions in Japan and Russia.
The last years of her life were spent living with the difficult effects of a brain aneurysm that took away the ability to pursue the things she loved. As many often remarked, it didn't take away her smile that she loved to share with others.
Marilyn is survived by her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren; sisters, Lorene Linamen and Carol Kretlow; and brother, Duane and sister-in-law, Agnes Trudgeon.
A memorial service will be held May 18 at 4:00 p.m. at The Vancouver Church, 3300 N.E. 78th Street, Vancouver, WA 98665.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children of Promise, P.O. Box 2316, Anderson, IN 46018.
