Marvin Leroy Baker, 85, was born on January 15, 1936 in Baudette, Minnesota, and passed away on January 25, 2021 in Castle Rock, Washington with the love of his life by his side.
Marvin grew up in the Yakima area but moved to Longview Washington around 1945 where he graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1954. While at R.A. Long he met the love of his life. Soon after graduating from High School they married on April 27, 1956 and were happily married for 64 years.
Marvin was the Water and Sewer Superintendent in Longview for 32 years before retiring in 1998. His passions were God, family, hunting, taxidermy, and model airplanes.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn (Gilkerson) Baker, his eight children Alana (Lonnie) Odem, Sherry (Steve Brewer) Holt, Marvin (Sue) Baker, David (Liz) Baker, Craig (Judy) Baker, Deanna (Jim) Zdilar, Dennis (Heather) Baker, and Jeff (Andrea) Baker. 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, and nephews. Also surviving are his siblings Darrell Baker and Maurene Durrett.
Proceeded in death are his parents John Baker and Lila (Nelson) Baker and a sister Genevieve “Genny” Kite. Mother and father in law Edward Gilkerson and Minerva Gilkerson.
