Mildred "Mickey" Lucille Driver

March 14, 1934 — March 22, 2022

Mildred “Mickey” Lucille Driver, passed away on March 22, 2022 one week and five minutes after her 88th birthday due to age and a failing body. She was surrounded by several of her children/grandchildren in Woodland, Washington when she drew her final breath here on this earth.

Mickey was born on March 14, 1934 in Manderson, WY to Otto Alphonso Meyers and Martha Emma Taylor, and eventually found her way to Woodland, WA where she met and married Robert “Bob” Earl Driver and had daughter Debbie and sons Bobby, Billy and Tommy. Mickey and Bob also added to their family by adopting Keith and Skip to raise as their own.

She, Bob and their family lived in the country and learned the art of raising horses, cattle, chickens, dogs, cats and an occasional deer. She and Bob loved watching sports (especially basketball and baseball), playing pinochle with friends, dancing (many years ago)… but most of all loved bowling in leagues together.

At the age of 37, Mickey embraced the Gospel of Jesus Christ and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in which all of her family eventually became members. She loved the concept that families can be together forever and was later sealed to her husband and children for time and eternity, in the Seattle LDS Temple.

Mickey was a wife and mother who loved arts, crafts and all things “beautiful” with a fierce determination she would work leather, paint pictures, make quilts and watch nature in all its wonder – holding fast to her beliefs, defending those she loved, and always seeking to better herself. Mickey was loved and admired by her friends and family for her many talents and kindness that she showed them.

Over the last few years Mickey resided at the Woodland Assisted Living Center where she often spoke of how much she loved the people there. She felt cared for and loved even when family visits were limited by the pandemic. She most definitely would have loved to tell each one of the staff “thanks for being there for her”.

Mickey is survived by her husband and children as mentioned above, but also leaves an enormous legacy of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mickey loved her extended family and would light the room with a great smile whenever they would come to visit. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 281 Insel Road, in Woodland Washington. The service will commence at 1 p.m. on Friday the 15th of April. There will be light refreshments following the service, after which the family will proceed to the Frank Abel Cemetery where Mickey will be laid to rest.
