Lifelong local resident Pamela Kaye Beesley, 76, of Longview, passed away Feb. 5, 2024, at St. John Medical Center.
She was born May 16, 1947, in Longview, to Wayne and Gladys (Norman) Beesley. Pam was a Girl Scout and a 4-H member in her youth. She graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1965, and went to work for Cap’n Yoby’s until becoming a full-time homemaker.
Pam was a member of the Kelso Eagles and a gifted seamstress who enjoyed hot rods, playing bingo, visiting casinos and trips to the beach with her daughter. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. She took care of her granddaughters full time while her daughter worked. They will be eternally grateful for that extra love and devotion. Pam always put others before herself. She was selfless, loving, kind, calm, funny, witty, and beautiful inside and out.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Mike DeSpain of Kalama; seven grandchildren, Shauni Harding of Kelso, Cassidy Harding of Mill Creek, Wash., Evan Burckhardt, Laurette Burckhardt, and Grant DeSpain, all of Longview, Adam Burckhardt in Florida, and Hailee DeSpain in Idaho; two great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Peni Taylor in Arizona.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Gladys Beesley; a brother, David Beesley; a son, Tommy Burckhardt; and the love of her life, Terry Madison.
