Patricia Sue Drabek, lovingly known as Pat, peacefully passed away at home in Longview Washington, on October 24, 2024, surrounded by her family and friends. Born on October 13, 1949, in Antigo, Wisconsin, she embraced a life full of love, laughter, and cherished moments that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched.
In her early years, Pat carved her path through various occupations, beginning in the strawberry fields and shoe factories of Wisconsin. Her tenacity and dedication led her to a role with Weyerhaeuser in Longview, where she did mail runs before retiring in 1995. Retirement brought her immense joy as she became a devoted homemaker and an attentive babysitter to her beloved grandchildren, a role that highlighted her nurturing spirit.
Pat graduated high school in Antigo, Wisconsin in the class of 1967, a testament to her determination and love for learning. She held a huge heart that resonated with warmth and unconditional love, earning her the affectionate nickname "Paprika Pat." Her personality shone bright with orneriness, a delightful sense of humor, and a laugh that could light up any room. She was truly easy-going, always lending an ear and providing positive reinforcement. Friends and family alike appreciated her attentiveness to their needs, ensuring everyone felt valued and cared for.
Among her proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, who represented her greatest joys in life. Pat's journey took a significant turn when she proudly purchased her first home at the age of 74, an achievement made even sweeter as it was shared with her granddaughter, grandson-in-law, and great-granddaughter Hadlie. This milestone reflected her unwavering spirit and love for family.
Her passions included watching hummingbirds' flit about, listening to country western music, and keeping an eye on the weather and news. Christmas held a special place in her heart, filled with joy and celebration, embodying the love she so freely gave throughout the year.
Pat is survived by her adoring son, Scott (Kim) Drabek, and her loving daughter, Theresa Reeson. She leaves behind a legacy of joy and love through her grandchildren: Tosha (Brandon) Greene, Mariah (John) Potter, Bryce, Brett, and Bailey, along with her cherished great-grandchildren: Hadlie Greene, Amelia Potter, and Aroura Potter. She is also remembered fondly by her sisters, Delores and Bev, and her best friend, Sandra Bostwick.
Pat is now reunited in spirit with her beloved husband, William Drabek, and her dear parents, Harold Widder and Margaret Johnson, along with her brother Bill Widder and sister Kathy Thomae. Her essence will carry on in the lives of those who knew her, forever celebrating the beautiful memories created. As we remember Pat, we hold close the warmth of her heart, the light of her laughter, and her unwavering love that will continue to inspire everyone she touched.
