It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond Max Badgett announces his passing on Nov. 4, 2021, in Longview, Washington from complications with Alzheimer’s.
Ray was born on Jan. 27, 1935 in Burchard, Nebraska to Virgil and Gladys Badgett. Ray and his family moved to Washington in his early years and settled in Elma, Washington.
Ray grew up on his Mom and Dad’s dairy farm on the South Bank Road in Elma. A graduate of Elma High School class of 1953, Ray went on to WSU and graduated with a degree in dairy science in 1957.
Ray married his high school sweetheart Audrey Fisk on June 16, 1956 in Elma, graduated college in 1957 and came home to work on the family farm, which he took over from them in 1965. The farm shut down in 1984.
Ray and Audrey went on to manage properties for Realvest Corp. in Oregon,Washington and Idaho. Ray and Audrey were able to travel the USA on numerous trips in their RV, checking out all the sites.
Ray is survived by his wife Audrey, son Randy and wife Cindy, daughter Melanie and hubby Steve Smythe, and daughter Leeann Badgett; grandkids: Sheena, Zachary and Taylor and five great-grandkids: Cadence, Brody, Landon, Avery and Audrina.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 7, 2021, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 404 W. Young St. in Elma.
