Robert E Galivan (Bob) of Longview, passed away January 15, 2023, peacefully surrounded by his family. He was proceeded in death by his wife Betty J Galivan and his parents Thomas H. and Mary Galivan. He is survived by his son Doug (Margie) and his daughter Kathy (Mitch), his grandchildren Chris (Mandy) and Shawn.
He enlisted in the Army, March of 1951. He first went to basic training in Fort Lewis, WA and then to a Firing Station in Yakima, WA. After 30 days there, he prepared for his enlistment to Germany.
He was a long time member of St. Rose Catholic church. He also was a member of the Early Birds Lions Club for many years. He was very involved with the Red Cross and many volunteer services in the Longview/Kelso community. He was also very fond of the Pancake House and had breakfast there every Tuesday for over 50 years.
He was very fond of his grandsons and went to most if not all of their sporting events. He was also an avid golfer and played as often as he could.
He had a lifelong career as a sales representative for Atlantic Richland Company. Later in life he began driving tanker trucks for the company. When he retired, he found he really wasn't ready for retirement, so he went back to work driving tanker trucks for Texico. After leaving Texico, he started driving for Bud Clary. Moving cars back and forth to other dealers.
