On the afternoon of Monday, March 4 2019 Sharon Belisle, 76, ended her struggle with dementia and passed away in her care home in Hockinson, Washington.
Sharon was born to Wesley and Christine (Baisch) Waddle in Webster, South Dakota and her family moved to Clark County when she was an infant. She met her husband Gilbert "Gil" Belisle in school and they married in 1960. Sharon shared many adventures together with Gil and their children Dan, Jody, and Rod, as well as with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished her family and valued time spent together as the most precious gift.
Sharon loved enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with her family, camping, hiking, fishing, and gardening throughout her life. Sharon was known for her beautiful painting, becoming an institution at local craft bazaars and teaching a class for "The Painting Ladies" for 35 years. Her crafting skills and passions also included quilting, embroidery, and cross-stitching. Her pies were legendary and have never been properly re-created, and her recipes for potato salad, jam and turkey gravy have been carefully passed down.
Sharon is survived by her children Jody (Ray) Carter and Rod (Trina) Belisle and her 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Gil, her son Dan, and her siblings Willis Waddle, Wanda Waddle, and Bonnie (Waddle) Mersereau.
Family and friends are invited to remember Sharon's life on Saturday March 16, 2019 at 11:00 am at Northwood Park Funeral Home, Cemetery & Mausoleum, 16407 North East 15th Avenue, Ridgefield, Washington.
Sharon's gentle, caring nature brightened the lives of her family and friends and all who met her along her journey. It is with great joy that we recall that even when her mind forgot, her heart remembered; her legacy will remain always one of love and kindness. We love you Mom. We love you Grandma. Heaven got a little brighter the day you got there.
