Shelby Marie Peterson, 30, of Longview passed away unexpectedly Dec. 1, 2023, at home.
She was born Dec. 22, 1992, to Stacey “Tork” and Rebecca Ann (Reeson) Peterson. She graduated from R.A. Long High School in 2011 where she discovered a love of league bowling.
Shelby was a bartender at the Oregon Way Tavern, a certified nurse’s assistant at the Americana, and most recently, a server at Kerby’s Fish in Lexington. Shelby had a strong work ethic.
She was a member of the American Bowling Association and enjoyed driving, hiking, adventuring, and trying new things and foods. She was a high energy “firecracker,” passionate, spontaneous, sassy, wild, and fearless. She was also, protective, loving, giving, loyal, selfless, funny and maternal.
Shelby is survived by her father, Tork Peterson of Longview; a sister and brother-in-law, Stacy Peterson and Mike Rice of Longview; her companion, Brent Davis at home; and her aunts, uncles and cousins. Shelby loved animals and is survived at home by an American Bulldog, Chyna; and a Pug, Minnie.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Jack and Martha Reeson, and Frank and Anna Mae Peterson; her mother, Rebecca Peterson; and a nephew, Kolby Rice.
A service is planned for 3 p.m. Dec. 22 at Steele Chapel with Pastor Caleb Strom officiating. It would have been her 31st birthday. A reception will follow in the chapel’s hospitality room. Flowers are welcome at the service.
