W. Dean Thompson

William “Dean” Thompson passed away on the morning of May 2, 2021 at his home in Vancouver, WA. He was 61. Dean was born March 15, 1960 in Huntington Beach, CA, to Bill and Lois. He was the oldest of three children.

After graduating from Columbia River High school in 1979 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After his time in the service, he returned home to the Pacific Northwest and completed a bachelor’s degree from the University of Portland.

Dean enjoyed all things outdoors. In his early adult years, he spent a lot of time skiing on the mountain and on his ski boat. Later, he would enjoy many hunting seasons, especially with his father. Most recently, his favorite activity was just enjoying life with his wife, Lynn and his grandchildren Rilyn, Gwenyth, Brynn, Nora, Liam and Emery.

Dean was preceded in death by his mother and father. He will be missed dearly by his wife Lynn; his son Casey and wife Courtney with their two children; his son Jacob; stepdaughter Jamie; stepdaughter Janelle and her two children; stepson John, stepdaughter Amanda and their daughter; stepdaughter Natalie and her daughter; his sister Karen; his brother Alan, and his stepmother Dona.
